The AGM of the Forum was held on the 23rd November. As well as the normal AGM business, there was a question and answer session with a member of the police force. There is a huge problem with recruiting policemen, but the Chief Constable says he has no evidence that this area is not getting the same support that it got before the amalgamation of Portswood and the City. The beat officers do not have time to go on walking patrols, they don’t just do beat work but anything that comes across the counter at Portswood. He said that the City Council is very active in removing abandoned cars after 7 days. The increase in abandoned cars is because you can no longer get money by having them collected for scrap.
The next meeting is on the 22nd March.
