On 31st October, I had a meeting with the new Headteacher, Mr Letherby and the Chair of the Governors, Mr Doyle, to raise with them concerns of residents, particularly in Leaside Way. Mr Letherby assured me that they took good relations with the community very seriously.
It was agreed, and later confirmed in a letter from Mr Doyle, that when acts of vandalism take place, the householder should telephone the school and ask for Mr Letherby. If he is unable to take the call at the time, he will call back. Arrangements will then be made for the householder to visit the school and to identify the pupil (from photographs).
I learnt that high fencing will soon the erected in place of the low chain-link fence beside the footpath. This should prevent boys going into the woods during the school day.
