In most years, we have been very lucky with the weather, but not this year. Short dry periods were interrupted by heavy showers. Fortunately, it was not cold and people kept dry under gazebos. Just as last year, our barbecue chefs were again Ken Hickling and Mark. Josephine supplied and cooked the vegetarian meals. Rain did not deter the children from the bouncy castle but face painting was forgotten. All the children’s games and the tug-of-war were fitted into a fine weather interlude, marshalled by Ruth Hopgood. As is so often the way, when the party drew to a conclusion, it turned into a nice fine evening.
