Thirteen gardens were opened to the public this year. At the end of the route, Angela Cotton provided tea and cakes. Those who opened their gardens found it a rewarding experience. One of them, Valerie Scott said that she enjoyed showing people round and getting out her plant books. She liked meeting neighbours who share a common interest.
A cheque for £111.45 was sent to the charity Tools for Self Reliance.
As noted previously, we intend to hold the Open Gardens Day in alternate years. We are trying to interest a nearby residents’ association in holding an Open Gardens Day in the year when we do not.
