Everyone appreciates a well-maintained home, but recently it has been noted that some residents have gone the extra mile and reinstated missing features. This includes the replacement of inappropriate aluminium double glazed windows to a house in Ethelburt Avenue [installed before the Article 4 Direction] with new timber windows to match the originals. Also in Ethelburt Avenue, the rebuilding of a missing chimney stack, with carefully matched details and render, which restores the symmetry of a semi detached pair. A house in Bassett Green Road, which for many years had an incongruous black front door has recently been repainted in light cream to match the surround, as Collins intended. The Committee commends these residents for enhancing not only the appearance of their own homes, but also of the Conservation Area as whole, for the benefit of all residents. Thank you!
