On the left, in the photo taken in 1984, you will need to look over the tops of the parked cars to glimpse the hedge crossing the lawn. Today, in the photo on the right, the open-plan design has been restored. As with other aspects of your property, it is not to be seen in isolation but how it fits in with the nearby properties. This is recognised in the Appraisal & Management Plan policy BGE0 (see page 17). After over 80 years, with few exceptions, open lawn frontages are still open, and there are still unfenced green privet hedges where there should be. This is a credit to the care by their current and former owners.
