A cheeky planning application was made to incorporate the public footpath from Summerfield Gardens to Greenways into the garden of an adjoining property. This had been gated in 2010. There was no intention that a gating order was for ever. It should have been reviewed annually but after the first year was forgotten about. There were 17 objections with none supporting and the planning application was refused.
Times have changed and the needs of pedestrians protected. Gating Orders have been replaced by Public Spaces Protection Orders and after October 2020, Gating Orders are no longer enforceable, so we should be able to start using this path with little formality. Just a matter of finding the key!
