Families on the Estate may be interested to know that our local secondary school, Cantell, has been awarded an ‘outstanding’ classification from Ofsted. However controversial you may find the Ofsted ratings, the report is a positive testimony of how the school is now operating and contains valuable information to families who may be thinking about their children’s schooling whilst living in this area. Stoneham Academy, Mansbridge Primary and Bassett Green School have all achieved ‘Good’ Ofsted ratings. This alongside the removal of ‘catchment areas’ for secondary schools from the Council’s admissions policy is a promising change. Prospects for education in this area are positive and this will no-doubt have a knock of impact to the value of homes and interest from young families in coming to the area.
